A Christmas by the Lake-Volume II
Several years ago we (ShowCase Records and Duluth Rocked Media) produced a CD called “A Christmas by the Lake.” This is a project that I had wanted to do for many years and it turned out quite nice for a first effort. Many wonderful Duluth talents contributed to the project including: Randy Lee, Bill Bastian, Don Buck, Julie Finkle, Ken Ahlberg, Robin Roh and more.
This summer I am starting the process of creating “A Christmas by the Lake-Volume 2.” I’m planning to “simplify” the process this time. Instead of hiring an orchestra and a producer like we did last time I am going to ask for talented groups and individuals to submit completed recordings for the project. With digital technology as it is I expect that most people have access or availability to do such a recording. We will review the submissions and select 12 songs for the CD.
Of course, these all have to be Christmas songs and part of the selection process will be based on the audio quality.
School choirs, small ensembles, bands, orchestras, church choirs, combos, soloists, etc are all welcome to submit. If you are familiar with Volume One we had every kind of song from “Jingle Bell Rock” to “Silent Night” so I’m very open to variety!
Please spread the word to anyone that might have interest in being involved in this project. We will pick a local charity (last time it was the Boys and Girls Club) and donate a portion of the profits of the sales of the CD’s to them. There are no fees or royalties paid for these performances.
I will need your initial submission on a CD and before August 1. Please feel free to email or call me if you have any questions, suggestions or ideas. 218-727-1177 or talundeen@clearwire.net

Exciting Times
These are exciting times for us. Soon we will be moving into expanded offices in the Piedmont Plaza and we are working on a number of major initiatives.
First of all let me say that we are thrilled to now have a professional association with the Radisson Hotel and Resorts-Harborside Hotel in Duluth. Our exhibitors and special event sponsors will receive reduced rates when staying in conjunction with their participation in any of our events!
Secondly we will be hosting our first "Workin' Late" after work get together at the Radisson very soon. "Workin' Late" was launched at this years Business to Business-B2B Expo at the DECC. This is a forum for our exhibitors and sponsors (over 300!) to get together socially from time to time and talk shop in a relaxed, non work setting.
Thirdly, we are thrilled to announce that Bill Capodagli, author of the best selling book "The Disney Way" has been contracted to be the keynote speaker at the 2009 Business to Business Expo! More info at http://www.duluthbusinessexpo.com/
Last but not least, my radio show "Talk of the Town with Tracy Lundeen" continues to grow with listeners each week. Heard every Saturday morning from 6 to 8AM on the FAN560-WEBC (560AM) I interview a wide variety of interesting guests in the fields of business, politics and entertainment. You can advertise on the show by calling me at 218-727-1177. More announcements coming soon on news regarding the show.
